VPSSlim black Friday instances - anyone else having issues?
During the Black Friday specials I snagged a few VPSes to use for an upcoming project.
The VPSSlim offering seemed to good to pass up - I'm sure many people jumped onto the deals and they're a little swamped with requests & support.
It took a while for my KVM instances to come up, but they seem to be having a lot of disk trouble. They fixed it once (not sure how) but now it's back again. I also rented an OpenVZ instance, which is still not up.
I opened a ticket for both the OpenVZ and the KVM instance issues, and they responded and resolved the KVM problems quickly. However, they just seem to come back after a while (virtio disk errors), and they haven't provided any meaningful response to my OpenVZ instance being down.
Now, I know these instances are barely profitable for them, and support costs money. I don't expect top tier response times for such a cheap service. But I'm also not interested in paying for a service I'm not getting or can't use.
Is anyone else seeing similar issues? Am I just unlucky and support a little overwhelmed, and will my issues be resolved? Or is this the level of reliability I can expect for this price?

Yep! have not been able to get my vps to work properly. Looks like they oversold a wee bit. KVM #1
I shoot it in the face and I finished it 2 hours after I got it.
Not worth the trouble.
A bit? Boy this is a record for the lowest GB5 score I've seen in my entire life... It's probably so slow it could be retro already
They mentioned there is something wrong with the images they provided, but have not heard if they implemented the fix.
lol
Score 30 in GB5 can be converted around score 110-140 in GB4.. It is only a tenth of cociu single core VPS performance.. lol
Welcome to slimy VPS.
The poorest yabs result I've ever seen.
it's been known vpsslim is peepeepoopoo u shot urself in the foot m8
Even cociu's single core CPU with score 300 in GB5 considered as "weak" CPU. I am missing new term for this.
Yes, i am also having the same issue. @VPSSlim ; i have not received response to a couple of support ticket.
just ran yabs cpu bench on my openvz instance:
Just cancel it and save yourself some time and $.
Jesus that's horrible
The new nodes (the one they set up during the BF shitstorm) seem to be oversold to hell and back, I have one from the BF thread which was supposed to be 4 cores but was provisioned as 1 core (ticket is still pending with no reply); even then the core performance is still doodoo. I'll probably be not renewing this one.
I also have one I got from the thread they started (2vCPU, 4GB) that is running fine; I managed to be one of the few early ones so I believe this was provisioned on one of the earlier nodes. Performance (CPU, IO) is good to okay-ish, can't really complain given the price.
I guess I am lucky. I have a 1GB KVM instance and it's working fine. I didn't even bother with their templates and installed my own OS. 50GB SSD was too good to pass on at this price.
My only complaints are:
If someone needs some help/guidance to install with custom ISO send me a PM.
"This VPS is suspended. You cannot perform any operations for the VPS !" that´s what i get now...looks like they are way oversold. it took 3 days to get my vps, i got 4 new vps with new ip because the vps corrupted... never had such a bad hoster
wha? they suspended the vps with ought giving a reason?
Happened with mine while re-installing the initial OS after it got provisioned with an older version. Instead of ticketing in for a fix, I made the sensible choice of cancelling it for a refund instead. Can't say I am missing out on anything except the double digit GB5 scores
Slayers gonna slay.
Keep trying until you get 42.
WOW- been a week, Still Pending.
lol
I got offline server and a promise they will activate new nodes soon. Today they terminated my offline server. Lost 2.5 euro + VAT.
25 comments and not one feedback from the provider himself 👍🏼
Says everything about the shitshow this has been. Glad I cancelled and moved on when I did.
I think someone warned about them on their sale thread but people were so busy to get cheap box and no one listened to him.
don't ya'll remember my warnings doe?!@!
