  • Thanks. Yeah, figured it is AMS.. Ping is very less from AMS server in speed test as expected i.e. 1.4ms but download speed is very less 34.36Mbit/s.

I think issue is likely with the other AMS server MaxiTEL.

  • @dustinc Please double the bandwidth. Order #8012312839. Thanks!

  • Congrats on you guys' new location !!! and I hope you guys can add Japan in the future.

By the way, can I still get the double bw? I have one invoices here #801332

    thank u so much!!!

  • Nice job

Lastly, as of earlier today, we reached out to everyone who had been approved for this. So if we missed you, by chance, just let me know :)

@dustin I asked for AMS migration in order #7842851661 Additional Notes, am I eligible?

If you followed the rules and got reply in your ticket about it - yes, you are eligible.

I'd say that IS pretty obvious.

The straight (well, superficial i.e. slightly curved...) distance between Orem, UT and Amsterdam, NL is roughly 8,000 km. Given the speed of light (~ 300,000 km/s) a ping of ~1.5ms would mean a transmission speed of just a little under 18 times the speed of light, even with zero hops/routers/regenerators in between.

No doubt RackNerd has been lightning fast so far but I somehow doubt they already use these great new SOL-18 routers Dustin might have brought from his far davanced home planet for cheap LET offers. But if so, I hope he lets me have a small account with that kind of connectivity. Not much space or memory needed, just enough BW to watch and participate in lottery draws once in a while...

You got the wrong obvious. @ststranger169 meant his Racknerd VPS is AMS based. So it should have better speeds with nearby AMS server but as shown in his new speedtest with another Netherland server - speeds are rock solid.

As for location of Orem, UT being shown - I believe that is a false positive. Reference: https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/3170762/#Comment_3170762

Yes it seems that the IP is still geolocated to the US.

Hello - we've submitted the GeoIP correction with MaxMind, they update their records every Tuesday. So the IPs should reflect AMS by Tuesday.
