  • Have anyone been able to upload netboot.xyz? I've tried their original URL and another one, but I'm always getting Failed to find content-length for the url you specified. this usually means it is not a direct link to the file itself.

Had one guy asking for a 55% discount in a ticket and constantly sending PMs here to find out if I got a chance to look at the ticket. And there were more heroes like him too. So yeah...

to be fair, that probably is to be expected. it's LET after all and you entered the lions den all by yourself ;-) ;-)

of course I also heavily disagree with such dickish behaviour and will continue to blame them for it, even though or just because that annoyes them back a bit... well rewarded I'd say ^^

Maybe you're using the wrong URL? Or else something else is going on.

Definitely not, I’ve tried that and just uploaded it somewhere that I have direct access; still the same. This is happening in Chicago, I guess I’ll open a ticket (sadly).

  • @hosthatch said: We’ve processed 99% of the simple ticket orders at this point.

How long will it take for manual review? Does it means being rejected if it not pass after 24 hrs?

  • @berkay said: Definitely not, I’ve tried that and just uploaded it somewhere that I have direct access; still the same.

They seem to have a CloudFront proxy/cache and that's likely what is messing up is my hunch.

Try a direct mirror or their Github repo for releases and see if that helps.

Yeah. And if yours isn't delivered yet, it is almost the same as for others. I posted my benchmark, but it was like 1 out of 10 servers I ordered. :) So I am a part of the waiting game as well. :)

Is it still necessary to enable IPv6 via ticket?

  • Why are people still complaining about waiting a couple of days for an answer for something that's been mentioned from the very beginning it could take 7 working days to be deployed? Upgrade or not, if you had open a ticket already just be patient and when the time comes you will get a reply to it with a yes or a no or whatever @hosthatch and his team decide. You're paying peanuts for great performance as you can see from the benchmarks being posted here.

@hosthatch, dealing with such communities can be stressful indeed but hang in there. We're all supporting you in this. I'm pretty sure this black friday brought in more new customers compared to the last one and once they'll have their server up and running and see how well it performs they'll fall in love with HostHatch.

Deploy is different than getting an answer to the ticket which is similar to an order confirmation.

We are aware that it can take some time until the server is finally ready to go.

If the funds are in your account + you did the right math AND ordered in time you'll have your virtual server, no worries!

    No.

But you could try a flash deal. If the link works, you may place your order.

  • Any Geekbench 5 for 3,5 GB and 3vCPU package?

  • My NVMe (no flash deal) was already provisioned. Will start working into it after my work hours are over.

Yes (unfortunately) for now. This was on our roadmap a long time ago, but we never got around to it.

Yeah, if I will look back in a few weeks, I will probably regret using the rude tone I have used here quite a bit more than I should have. The 'bad apples' or more like 'strange apples' are honestly not the majority, they are probably <5% or even lower, but the volume is so huge that even a small % is a lot of negativity to deal with for one person. Most customers are completely normal, good human beings who are happy to have a nice deal.

I have to deal with most of those 'special' cases, so my staff can get their work done and not have to deal with this stuff. It takes a toll on you. I will need to have a beer (or 12) after this is over and every customer has what they paid us for. For now, it's only caffeine (and unfortunately that completely screwed up my fitbit RHR average that I worked on for an year with healthy habits haha)

I hate saying no to simple requests - especially the ones where it seems like it will take me only a few clicks and 2 minutes of work, but then multiply that by a few hundred....but everyone wants to feel special, and when they don't, it ends up in hate for "he cannot even spend 2 minutes for a valuable customer like myself?"

Sorry for the rambling. Going to get back to work :)

  • @hosthatch said: I will need to have a beer (or 12) after this is over

why not have one in between. trust me. won't hurt 🍻
