I'm amazed by the number of people ordering servers without even reading the main post. More than half of the questions in this thread has answers in the first two posts made by Hosthatch :)

Hello @hosthatch, I rent server from 2018 for $15/year, can I upgrade it specs to BF deals posted at page 1 at the same price?

Btw, did you still planned to give us last flash deal tonight? :)

    Unlikely you can 'upgrade' it.

Yes, I got that part....it will be somewhere in the range of 168 business hours (counting only business days, so 7), counting from the last "when will this order be provisioned" or "please do this ASAP!!!!" ticket bump.

(apologies for my tone - but yeah...)

@tetech said: thinking about implications in terms of stock

This is handled in the original post

@hosthatch said: Any orders made after the timestamp of my post saying we are out of stock here will not be provisioned, and your only option will be to change to something else.

So in case "out of stock" will happen(which I think didn't happen for any of the original offers). Then the time when a ticket was opened will come in place. If it was placed before an "out of stock" notification it should be fulfilled.

My guess is that persons who review those tickets have to deal with a lot of "off topic" ones that can't be processed with a quick acknowledgement response. So one of your tickets may be delayed to be processed in the next working day along with some other tickets.

In my case, order tickets got an acknowledgement response. But billing issues are left unsolved and unanswered, I suppose those will be resolved on working days. I hope @hosthatch will allow some flexibility because of that, since it affects the balance available for orders.

I trust there is stock and the order will be completed, no problem or paranoia there.

More trying to get my head around how they are tracking stock levels. If everything is done via ticket then it seems like either someone must be doing some quick manual parse/tally of the tickets or the stock levels are super high. Nothing highly important, just a curious mind.

Hi there, just confirming. So I deposited my funds and opened a ticket for the front page deal on Friday, and then a few hours later I realized that I actually wanted to buy more (but a different combination). So I deposited more funds and created a new ticket with my order. It has nothing to do with the flash sales, but I got worried after seeing the disclaimer on the first post.

Will my new order be honored?

    • #841221 (old ticket, closed)
    • #133020 (new ticket)

what is there to not understand:

We cannot switch you once you have opened a ticket to order something. An open ticket (whether you close it or not later) is considered an active order, and will not be changeable without our discretion.

    so you ordered twice.

Guess I'm the one to blame for not reading the most important parts then. I must admit it was only today that I came to know the rule. So sure, I could use a couple storage servers to go with my NVMe ones and I'll honor my end of the deal. I have re-opened the ticket and @hosthatch, at your discretion, if you don't want them to be changed then I'll add the funds as soon as possible.

Additionally, I have deposited $200 (all invoices showing paid) but am only seeing $101 in my account. Do I have to open a ticket to get it resolved, or will listing the invoice numbers in the ticket be sufficient?

    I don’t understand English, so I don’t read it

It might help some of the balance showing questions to note that if a newly ordered server shows as pending, the cost will already have been deducted from your balance.

EDIT: and you should already have a invoice showing paid for that server in the billing section.

Reading is hard. Ordering is easy.

  • @hosthatch Is the offer of 8 gb for 20 euro per year still available in amsterdam ?

Should I bump my ticket daily if I don't need this order now and only after at least month.
[just kidding, for sure I added the mark about low priority]

What you prefer 4 * $15 NVMe VPS or single $60 VPS. I have 3-4 websites and want to give them individual IP address so inclined towards 4 * $15 NVMe VPS but I do not want to maintain each VPS individually so inclined towards single $60 VPS. As websites do not have too much traffic so if they have to share IP address then even single $15 NVMe VPS is fine. Created ticket regarding this #907180 but no reply. Why provider should have any issue if one buy 4 VPS and combine resources including ip address. It is ok if I do not get combined CPU or bandwidth as I do not need them but why IP address can not be combined.

Is it advisable to install and run NextCloud for personal use on the Flash Deal LON 1Gb RAM instance? I know technically it can run, but since this is primarily a storage server, I just want to ask if this is a typical usage scenario with your servers and if I am breaching any terms of use? @hosthatch
Does anyone else have experience of running NC on HostHatch storage servers?

Don't see how running NC instance will be in breach of terms.

I have NC on Oracle VPS and Liteserver storage. Works fine even on Oracle, where disk speed is very limited. It may not that fast as it would be on SSD disk, but I don't rush things, storage is storage. If I knew more in linux and have a strict guide how to connect HDD VPS to NC on SSD VPS, maybe I would try...who knows.

i've heard not all provider allowing that on their storage server, since they think it might abuse their resources.

  • @hosthatch - it's Cyber Monday. Any flash deals planned for today? If yes, could you please leak some information to increase today's hype?
