You can see that here: https://www.racknerd.com/terms-of-service
thats a great idea, does the caching work for non public files that require the authentication?
I dont know honestly. All my files in the bucket are public. I didnt reaserch.
im thinking it would becaude its still a web request. thanks for that idea. my plan was to eventually move it to a s3 compatible provider, was eyeing wasabi or vultrs.
Stay away from wasabi. Their pricing model is shady. Vultr could be an alternative if you dont want think API request costs. But BackBlaze storage is 1/4 price. Vultr charges 0.02 per gb while B2 charges 0.005. But B2 charges API requests. Uploads are free but downloads costs 0.004$ per 10.000 requests. (edit: Other api calls such as listing buckets has different pricing, see here: https://www.backblaze.com/b2/b2-transactions-price.html)
Edit: Both vultr and b2 costs same when it comes to bandwidth(0.01$ per gb)
Edit2: If you want tutorial here it is: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-proxy-digitalocean-spaces-with-nginx-on-ubuntu-16-04
I followewd this tutorial.
Any flash deals or giveaways coming up?
where is the cheef @dustinc ?
@dustinc today is Sunday
2 VPSs with RackNerd already and more to come in this year when my Virmach VPSs reach end of billing cycle.
If I can get at least three more @dustinc 's flash deal vps then will be thinking of moving to @RackNerd from @VirMach
Just talking to people I've had discussions with in the past about their ideas and whether we can use some of my space to help them get off the ground, on a joint venture basis. I can get paid if and when it works, which is better than totally idle server space. Also potentially more lucrative in the longer run.
A specific instance: I now have RackNerd space in LA DC-02, which connects to pipes serving Australia (plus other places). I know somebody who had a potential client base there but couldn't find a good way to serve them from here at the time, just a few months ago. Well now we have it.
Howdy! We've doubled the bandwidth on both of these orders, thank you!
