    Just to DoS people, right?

Nope, Naruto did. I believe we were both asking legitimate questions though.

  • Lucky, I'm trying to sign up and I keep getting:

    Attention
A problem occurred trying to create your Redstation Account.
Redstation has been notified of this.

  • Roses are nice, violets are fine, you be the 6 and I'll be the 9.

  • @DotVPS said: Where are you located?

New York, near NYC. Using my home connection, as well. Not running anything funky too.

  • @debug try again in a different browser. The signup page is quite straightforward. create an account first and then buy the server once you verify your email. may be that helps.

  • @peppr Tried it in firefox. Didn't work. Pretty weird :S

tell me this is not a troll post, i can't seem to find the 1p dedi server.

  • Too bad they doesn't accept my debit card. I really want to try this one. :(

  • @cosmicgate said: tell me this is not a troll post, i can't seem to find the 1p dedi server.

Yes, it was 1p yesterday, and then

Please be advised due to high order volumes servers are subject to a 4-7 day setup time:

We apologise for any inconvenience - orders will be processed in the order received.

These dumb companies... obviously this offers attract lots of people

  • well that didnt last long haha

  • Heres a warning.

RedStation are known to charge you next month if you cancel, so they will probably charge you the full amount before the end of the month and after you cancel.

  • @Daniel said: RedStation are known to charge you next month if you cancel, so they will probably charge you the full amount before the end of the month and after you cancel.

There are ways around this.... :)

  • anyone got their servers yet? mine is still pending.

They're also known to charge at the first invoice (15days or so before payment due).

  • Lets say we remove the credit card stored in their system, what happens then?

  • Anyone who ordered a 1p server with zero intention of continuing on with the second month deserves whatever they get.

It was a stupid promotion, but its pretty greedy to signup for a huge dedicated server just to play for a month with no real need for it and 0 intention of continuing on. We got low end boxes for playing around.. no reason to waste this companies time and resources.

Well, I think that the company has counted everything and considered all cons and pros when published such a promotion. If they didn't - they'll end in a deadpool anyway.

  • I ordered one for fun and placed my order, Got the confirmation emails and all that. Now I am waiting for delivery.

Shame the 10gigabit super high end boxes all sold out. Would of been fun to try one for a month!

    Thanks for the heads up!

  • @JoeMerit said: no reason to waste this companies time and resources.

They offer such promo for a reason. it could be a) They want to test their payment gateways and ordering system b) they want to test the efficiency of their network engineers c) some marketing manager started to get weird dreams

anyway the 0.01 cannot even cover a glass of hot water to the engineer involved. It must be seen as a free trial restricted to valid credit card holders. There are many such promo available but what makes this offer ridiculous is the system specs. Let someone get a machine to play and then will know whether this is real or a joke.

  • more simple : it's like playing russian roulette.

  • Any updates on your server @DotVPS ? Service from redstation, any quirks on their setup, any extra invoices yet?

Thank you for choosing a Redstation dedicated server.

Your server, DX-XXX-XXXXX, has now been built and is ready for your use.

You can find your remote access settings by signing in to your MyRedstation control panel at www.myredstation.com

Your next payment may be a pro-rata invoice to align your monthly payment date with your default preferred payment date. You may amend your preferred payment date for this server within in your MyRedstation control panel. Once logged in, navigate to My Account>Periodic Billing.

So people who doesnt wanna get billed at the 5th of next month which is their default billing date you can select your billing date to 29 days from your service date. They seem to be very straight forward in billing and the deal is real. People who accused them of shady billing please stand corrected. Thanks. Let me enjoy my 48GB beast now..

  • still waiting here...
    i hope u are 54744.....

  • @DotVPS and @peppr how is the server in terms of quality of hardware and network? Their normal prices seem quite a good opportunity.

If anyone can post some IP's or some PING/TRACEROOT results it would help.

  • @DotVPS said: What time did you get that?

    5 to 6 hrs back...

    @joodle said: 54744.....

they are faster than you think.. add 30+ more..

  • @DotVPS thanks for the IP and download speed test - first comment is that they do look quite professional including their SLA's and their network seems relatively quick.

  • are they still using virgin media?
