Gmail Business alternative

LeviLevi Member
edited September 2020 in General

This month is the last month of contract with G Suite and their premium Gmail. Overall email experience was very good. But I have few privacy concerns.

Tested Outlook, Zoho, gmx.com, tutanota, yandex, yahoo, Mxroute, protonmail.

Any other alternatives from your experience or just stay with Gmail? Willing to pay ~4 EUR/mo.

  • If you need a lot of space, keep with gmail suite..

  • You may try ProtonMail paid. They have google drive alternative coming soon.

  • fastmail is better. or migadu/postale.io is cheaper.

  • Self hosted mailcow-dockerized with Amazon SES for relay

  • if you were in europe, I suggest rzone.de which is good from my experience.

There is no such domain as rzone.de. Mistyped?

Migadu looks good, I like their style.

  • Migadu occasionally has issues with sending, try an MXRoute special, you won't be disappointed.

  • TBH, I've tried few different providers and for the money we pay. Google was the best bang for the buck.

If you're not looking for some massive corporation, mxroute is the best. And I'd go with them.

iirc SES will change the messege-id when sending, which can cause some issues with email threading for some clients.

  • Have you ever thought about using Zimbra?

    I'm good with Zoho.

    home hosted mailserver

    25gb mail and 100mb cloud - 3,50€
    https://mailbox.org/en/services#e-mail-account

somehow you could use own domain i think

or if you want to go offshore and anonymous

  • Try mailcheap.co

We have hosted Zimbra. Check the other forum for an offer.

  • Wold you seriously consider an option like Yahoo, which was very much hacked not even that long ago? I'm pretty sure GMX was too judging by whats happened to my gmx account (spam from previous email senders)

  • I'm using migadu's free plan. Maybe it's just for me, I don't know why but it will end on 1st October. Anyway it's easy to use, nice - lightweight design, I can recommend migadu even though it is quite limited.

I’ve experienced this myself. Not fun.

This is actually the reason I moved to MXroute. iirc Postmark also does the same, but not quite sure about it.

I don't quite remember, as it was quite some time ago. But I do believe it was an Android app that made me ditch SES

  • privacy concerns

I am afraid your only choice is protonmail

  • Mailcow with addon for storage. Done.

  • Dynu.com has low end pricing
