Every OVH brand need different account. This is insane. My old OVH US account doesn't work for OVHCloud US...
1st month promo non-recurring is bogus but if it's 1 year that's a reasonable useful period after which you can decide not to renew. So $1.49/month for a year is great, and if it's really recurring it's even better. I had one for a year and it worked well though I didn't use it enough.
One thing: are these really running on E3-12xx servers or is that some virtualization alias? At the other locations I think these are running on large E5's or whatever they are called now. It's a significant issue because sometimes CPU hogs use these things.
I second that it would be great to have a west coast one (western US or western Canada). I'm tempted by this Virginia one and might get it, but I already have a dedi at BHS so an east coast VPS wouldn't help me much.
Thinking about getting one of those VPSes but not sure about the disk. It's to bad I can't use my leftover OVH US cloud credit to pay for one of the VPSes lol.
just bought RISE-BF-2 - Intel Xeon E5-1650v3 - 64GB DDR4 ECC 2133MHz - 4x HDD SATA 2TB Enterprise Class Soft RAID for $66.99 / month. Free setup. It didn't say anything about the price increasing after a year.
I have another server that is the same specs except 2 drives, not 4 and I was paying $130/month. Moving to the new one, dumping the old. Saving $60+ a month!
nice christmas present, thank you.
Ugh, tried purchasing the VPS using my Paypal credit card...was denied and received a txt msg asking me if the OVH charge was made by me, replied with Yes, waited 10 min and tried ordering again and this time my credit card locked my acct and had me call =/. Same thing happened with my Discover card when I ordered from OVH US a year ago, oddly enough OVH CA I've never had issues. Was super easy to get cleared up with Paypal/Synch but I probably won't try a 3rd order. I have no idea why both my Discover and Paypal cards seem to hate OVH US lol.
One of the best deals in the USA from Black Friday.
Seems like it changes?
And now I am being charged for twice the said amount...
Same...
