Prem!
1 TB = $ 20.
BuyVM already does "storage slabs".

There's a lot of other things i'd want to develop (like a new build of stallion) before I jumped into trying to build out an object store.
Francisco
What does that mean?
100,000 files?
They are "S3 type objects". See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_S3
@Francisco why not simply use ceph+radosgw or minio?

I'd wait for a couple of months so that any possible issues/bugs in their infra/setup gets fixed in due time.
EDIT:
Already tried DigitalOcean's object storage for few MBs of stuff.
I'm totally on BuyVM's slabs now
How many servers? Are they guaranteed to be in different racks? I would like to see some guarantees around this - AWS for example standard class S3 object storage is tripled replicate across 3 availability zones (datacenter in same region) - I not expecting S3 level of replication safety at Linode prices but I would like the information.
Generally since that's the abstraction most consumers of object stroage work with, however it doesn't needed to be, its just a stream of bytes labelled with an identifier..
