For strictly learning, I think you'd be better off signing up for Hetzner cloud.
You can snapshot your saved state for roughly a cent or two, and delete the instance.
Even if you leave the 4GB instance running 24/7 to preserve the external IPv4, it only comes to 4.9 EUR/mo (excl VAT)
Being able to quickly destroy and re-create test scenarios for learning, is something Hetzner cloud+snapshots, makes quite affordable.
Hetzner also provide persistant external IP for something like €1 per month - so can shut a VM down and still retain the IP address
