Wondering if Virmach will get more sale now that AF is out.
VirMach and AlphaFail were never competitors. They are in completely different tiers. VirMach is in the potassium-rich Buffalo tier, while AlphaShits are in the maggot or earthworm tier. Buffalo's live long and magestic lives, maggots either die off quick or get their shit together and grow up to be something better. Obviously the former befelled AlphaDicks.

VirMach is the king of quality cheap deals. Other than that however, we seemingly know little about VirMach's operation. At a certain point you have to wonder how VM seems to get unending cheap servers in Buffalo. I just want to remind people that "it's not a real backup copy if it's with the same provider or at the same data center as the original copy".
They undoubtedly have a good arrangement with ColoCrossing and Serverhub, I believe they own all of their equipment (I could be totally wrong here). CC quirks aside, they do a great job of keeping their DCs well-managed and supported. And it's not a secret who the owners and top dogs of VirMach are (Amir & Syed, among others). Not saying VirMach will never close shop or get acquired, but they've been in business for several years (I believe since 2013 or '14), so definitely not a fly-by-the-night summerhost.
They are always willing and helpful when sorting out issues (as long as you keep realistic expectations). Additionally they are personable, jokers just like us, and active on LET, so that counts for something as well. Don't know where I was going with this, but in conclusion: Buffaloes w/ superior potassium > rest of the non-Buffalo worshiping infidels.
That's certainly a best practice, even outside of the lowend market.
I mean, with plan starting at 10$/y with California available, Virmach is probably the best refuge offer for cheap ass of AF.
