How to update rtorrent on So you Start ARM Servers?

carloshmmcarloshmm Member

Currently I'm using their "Ubuntu Server Armhf 16.04 "Xenial Xerus" (32bits)" OS image and the last rtorrent version available is rtorrent/0.9.6/0.13.6, I'd like to install the rtorrent/0.9.7/0.13.7 version, does someone here know how to do it? I want this version:

Upgrading the server to Bionic (18.04) won't yield any newer armhf builds for rtorrent/libtorrent. Cosmic (18.10) and beyond have the versions that you want, but those aren't LTS versions until 20.04 appears.

    Calm down satan.

  • Is rtorrent 0.9.7 that much better for running on this potato grade hardware?

I doubt it. My gut says you'll get bottlenecked somewhere before you hit the limits of rtorrent 0.9.6
