Put your server in rescue mode chroot/mount your server partition and change your password.

I personally prefer the updated version:

Have you tried to turn it off and off again?

    EDIT2:
    Fixed typo.

if you have not changed the password yet of root. just see the welcome email from your provider it has the root password in your email. if you cannot find it no worries just go to your provider email and find email messages see the welcome email from them setup server and there is your root password.

if all fails then try what other said. rescue mode select linux sysrescue 64 or what ever equivalent and then reset your root password. there are docs there on net.

    Hope you get sorted soon.

Please write back if it persist.
