Is offering VPS on RAID1 node considered a 'feature' now? Is there anyone playing russian roulette by not using software RAID1 at a minimum?

  • yes

  • @omlinux

I believe everyone runs atleast raid 1, other than about 2 people. Raid 10 is the general standard around here.

  • hardware raid costly then software raid :)

  • Raid-10 or gtfo :)

  • @Awson depends on client budget, u though amazone, rackspace, media template, godaddy, hostgator, why people there also many customer buying but i belive depend on client budget and 100% acurate service as well :)

All that means is they are stuffing a lot more customers on the server. Just because it's R10 doesn't make it better for the customer.

RAID10 offers a lot more redundancy and faster read/write speeds. So as a client I would prefer RAID10, which is why we use RAID10 on our nodes.

Would you rather be on a RAID1 box with 20 other customers or a RAID10 box with 200 other customers?

    a lot more redundancy

It potentially offers no more redundancy

lol, why not fight in 'The Cest Pit' for RAID1 or RAID55? ;)
