Shared hosting - what is the default limit of MySQL Connection?

Keep getting email about "You have exceeded your MySQL concurrent connection limit" from this Shared hosting provider.

MySQL Connection Limit:
Current MySQL Connections: 15

Comments

  • Most shared hosting even LET providers offer generous mySQL connections: in range of 50 to 100 or 150 (some may be offering more). Yours seems to limited to just 15?

There is no default limit. Whatever a provider wants to set is it.

15 seems tad low tho. But then it's shared hosting after all. I'd be brutally easy to exceed that nowadays with WP plugins and whatnot.

edit: its weird that vannila use html to post img, as many other forum uses bbCode :|

  • is there a way to check MySQL Connection Limit in cpanel?

  • Have you tried reaching out to the provider regarding this? They may increase it off the back of your feedback, or it may simply be set incorrectly.

  • By default there is no limit. Many providers don't even limit it, only when someone troublesome appear and there's no other option.

Some providers like to play safe and set quite restrictive limits to prevent abuse, but if you ask them nicely they will increase them for you at no extra cost.
