Just got told my VM was getting force migrated to a new node. Something about the specs not being right. Not sure I'm liking this. If performance goes down I will be pissed. What gives VirMach???

Unfortunately, some orders were created in the wrong nodes that weren't 3Ghz, so the VPS'es are being migrated to the right nodes. You should actually be migrated to even better nodes, recent hardware and you should notice an improvement.

    If that's true... right on.

Just migrated after a nightmare experience with SparkVPS.

Their oversold nodes couldn't keep my server instance running for more than a couple hours.

It is, we're on it. Apologies for the hassle, we'll sort this.

We're doing the migrations to improve performance. I apologize if the migration message was not clear.

Used one code for lifetime SSD32G and got the message that "Sorry, it looks like your account does not qualify for this promotion with the services in your cart. Try code 'SAVE10 instead.'"

As far as I know, I qualify for the service because:
    1. I am an active VirMach customer
    2. I am an active LET member and signed up last year
    3. I have my Paypal linked with VirMach

Or does this error message mean something else like the code is incorrect?

This is still not found. It probably means you have the other easter egg. > @davi said:

PM me if anyone interested in $24 8GB RAM, 60GB KVM. I have one extra.

Very interested. We save a lot of money for each of those we buy back. What's the going market rate?

@VirMach, our end of the bargain: DONE! Your turn.

You guys keep opening too many tickets so it's hard to do another sale. Plus I don't know how a Black Cyber Next Sunday sale sounds.

@virmach do you support transferring ip from one service ( discounted regular plan ) to another ( also discounted regular plan )? So to like transfer just their extra ips?

How does "Black/Cyber Week's Been Last Month Already Yet We're Still Zombies for Cheap Deals" Sale sound?

Plus clearly, we didn't open those tickets. We're good citizens ya know!

Everyone relax as the SSD32G code is still out there  The one I found was for SSD1G which is not bad either considering I got KVM 10Gbps port with one additional IP and 50GB SSD RAID 10 for just $1.30/year

Grrrrr. Missed another nice easter egg apparently.

Dedicated shoes or virtual private shoes?

    EDIT:
I hope they are not shared.

  • The only reason we used to disable flags at my datacenter was if we needed to live migrate VMs between disparate servers. Very rare corner case.

Speaking of migration, my Buffalo (land of infinite servers) KVM is already scheduled for a non-live-migration this week. Apparently it was provisioned on the wrong hardware. No biggie, as long as I don't lose the hours of windows updates (including some applied manually because windows update sucks).

I'm a Linux guy, but it's been fun playing with Server 2016. Thanks @Virmach!

We can't mix and match plans. That includes merging/moving resources or IPs.

This could be interesting. If (1) you haven't opened any ticket at all in the past 14 days and (2) you were a VirMach customer before the initial sale ended (Cyber Monday this year, 11/26/18) then private message us with your VirMach e-mail and any other required information for the following offer(s) -- limit one PM each person, but you can pick multiple offers.

    • 1GB, 20GB Disk, 1 Core, 10Gbit, $1.76/mo
    • 2GB, 40GB Disk, 2 Core, 10Gbit, $3.22/mo
    • 4GB, 80GB Disk, 4 Core, 10Gbit, $6.14/mo

Available immediately (aka several days) in Buffalo, or backordered for following locations: Los Angeles, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago.

Available in Amsterdam, Phoenix, and Frankfurt for +50% cost.

Also, you can grab any of these leftovers while supplies last... (actually while supplies last please don't get upset if you get a reply to the PM saying we can't do it.)

    • Storage package 50% off -- extremely limited
    • Shared-20 package 40% off + free domain -- basically free, msg your desired domain.
    • Ultimate Shared + 500Gbps Voxility IP 50% off -- like $40/yr with a free domain forever (life of plan.)
    • Unmanaged E3 dedicated server for $31.20/mo
    • Free 3 months of service in Buffalo on SSD256 to SSD32G (will renew if you don't cancel.)
    • $5/yr dedicated/private VPN/proxy hosted on a tiny VPS

May expire any time, limit per customer yada yada. Probably will expire by 11/3 so don't bother messaging after that time.

I bet you wish you didn't spam us with tickets now, huh? @almost everyone.

We had an issue where one of our "smart" scripts that load balances a little bit was not de-activated for the special, and it placed people on the older nodes instead of the 3GHz nodes.

We figured people would appreciate actually getting what they paid for (3GHz) so we're moving everyone.

D'oh, that's what I get for not waiting to set up my reverse DNS. Oh well, I probably didn't need another vpn anyway, and that really is a great qualifier. Did I miss the $4.70 / $3.00 BF list invoice, or is that list still to come?

  • Maybe if VirMach would fix its load balancer and billing server and automate Windows installs and rDNS, customers wouldn't have to open so many tickets.

In fact, I didn't even SSH to any of the services gotten from VirMach during this BF/CM yet, I told myself to let it idle for 1-2 weeks until everyone calms down.

I've got 3 VMs and 4 days after the CM the one at NY10GKVM40 started getting high CPU Steal time (not high enough to open ticket, but still I hope if someone is abusing the node he will be kicked-off) ... the other two VMs that are on 3GHz nodes are running great (for now).

Well, just 2 weeks ago I planned to dump one Virmach VM, keep one and buy none ... now I have 4 VMs to idle :)

  • Shutting down is more blessed than idling.
