Getting the below on my VM @VirMach
    Invoice #470764
Was getting excited to use my VPS this weekend now I'm kinda worrying this could be the beginning of problems...

    Virtual server not found

This was a minor issue for regenerated services. It's all good now.

I'm still hoping VirMach does another more "normal" flash sale of leftover inventory, these easter eggs are making me feel dumb and/or blind.

We didn't catch up to everything as soon as we had hoped. I think we'll finally be caught up tonight, but I'm not sure if I want to do any deals if we didn't even hit 100K views. Only 99.9K?? Really? :P

DataRecovery said: @VirMach, I have a problem/question regarding this matter:

I've got a 2x vCORE VPS and like others saw the frequencies halved. Now the frequencies shown are correct, but the performance did not change.

At least dd md5sum result is the same.

I assume this isn't something to be expected? What should I do?

Just a blind guess here as I didn't handle this task in our company, but have you tried turning it off and on?

Just got told that cpu passthrough is not available on specials (really?), eliminating my hope (and expectation) for the aes cpu flag availability for the vps I purchased to set up a personal openvpn server. Disappointed, don't remember that condition being mentioned beforehand, and it was not true with my prior services with virmach.

Is it really more costly or negatively impactful to virmach to allow the aes flag on my vps? I never knew that to be the case. What if I ask pretty please?

We can't disclose every single thing we will or won't do -- at some point it dives into the realm of it being a custom request that requires you to have full support with your package, and even then, we're not required to change specific settings. It all boils down to the package being advertised as limited support, with support only to ensure it's functional. Seeing as the service is functional without your request, it's not that outrageous for it to be denied. Everything else we offer is either expected by most customers as a basic function (mounting ISO, rebooting, re-installing) or at our discretion (IP change with fee, upgrades.)

If you can PM your ticket number I can take a look. Passthrough + AES opens us up to receive a little bit more abuse so I can see why a staff member may have rejected your request for a special.

Just curious to know how/why. I always thought that enabling AES/related flags reduces the load on the host since this makes the guest more efficient at crypto operations.

    Oh yeah! Party people!

@VirMach, our end of the bargain: DONE! Your turn.

  • Finally got into the SSD32G I won earlier, turns out that it chose to use my first solusvm username and add another VPS to it, along with an active special from 1.5 years ago. NOt sure why it did it but I got access to it now.

    Thanks!

  • Now we will have to keep refreshing this page. You never know when VirMach is going to drop the bomb.

It improved the performance of crypto operations but at the same time it attracts all kind of crypto-miner retards. That's why most VPS providers don't allow it by default and some of them refuse to do it on request.

Aah - completely forgot about moroniners. I thought that these deals were hard to come by and so they wouldn't risk doing something so stupid as to get promptly booted out (the auto suspend scripts are over efficient is what I thought).

Either way, I hope that this gives legitimate users a good way to request it and that it will be considered.

Didn't other people get them for three months free of charge anyway? Only difference I got was that it'll last for a year. I'll do something about the benchmark tomorrow anyway...

  • PM me if anyone interested in $24 8GB RAM, 60GB KVM. I have one extra.

Well, I'm getting the same "message". It is pity when you spend days lurking and finally get it ... you are being "surprised" by such message :)

Well, it's even sadder doing all that lurking, being very curious about it, and not knowing where/when I missed the clue!?

Nothing left among the egg-posts right? Once it was claimed long before I was online, I didn't spend time on it with scripts or plugins...

It was about the recurring discount easter egg that may still be available or not. I leaked already too much few pages back. Just have fun or find a way to live without it (I'm not going to respond to PMs asking for the code).

@VirMach - do I have to P.M. you the order ID for the recurring discount deal? Great performance anyway :)

I'm not sure if the "lifetime ssd32g" is still out-there. Maybe @VirMach could clarify.

  • @VirMach
Used one code for lifetime SSD32G and got the message that "Sorry, it looks like your account does not qualify for this promotion with the services in your cart. Try code 'SAVE10 instead.'"

As far as I know, I qualify for the service because:
    1. I am an active VirMach customer
    2. I am an active LET member and signed up last year
    3. I have my Paypal linked with VirMach

Or does this error message mean something else like the code is incorrect?

Then it is not for lifetime SSD32G.

    Nop, 99% isn't that one.

Good luck trying to find it... I don't even know how/where @VirMach hide it.

  • Everyone relax as the SSD32G code is still out there  The one I found was for SSD1G which is not bad either considering I got KVM 10Gbps port with one additional IP and 50GB SSD RAID 10 for just $1.30/year

  • Just got told my VM was getting force migrated to a new node. Something about the specs not being right. Not sure I'm liking this. If performance goes down I will be pissed. What gives VirMach???

Unfortunately, some orders were created in the wrong nodes that weren't 3Ghz, so the VPS'es are being migrated to the right nodes. You should actually be migrated to even better nodes, recent hardware and you should notice an improvement.
