OS reinstalls should be the same for KVM as well as OpenVZ - one click in your provider's control panel.

What’s wrong with using VZ for a VPN?
Stuck with TUN/TAP drops, and slower perfomanse. VPN need at least one core and few dedicated resources. OpenVZ fine for host sites or other purposes.
