Hi all. Im looking for a freelance job as sys admin.

Things i do/know:

  • Linux Debian
  • nginx (HTTP)
    -- uwsgi (Python)
    -- php7.0-fpm (PHP)
    -- nodejs (JS)
  • postfix (SMTP)
    -- dovecot (POP3, IMAP4)
  • bind9 (DNS)
  • Squid (Proxy)
  • iptables (FW)
  • vsftpd (FTP)
  • MySql (DB)

  • unrealircd (IRC)

  • programming API gateways in Python

  • web scraping (http get, PhantomJS)

  • programming web interfaces (plugins, forms) in HTML, CSS, JS

  • setup VPS, OS (apt-get update, iptables etc.), services (DNS, SMTP, HTTP etc.)

  • install Wordpress on VPS with root access

  • Wordpress edit (install plugins, change theme, etc.)
  • ...

    Haha, you do charge for basic command like:
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    or centos
    yum update
    or installation of php under root
    apt-get install php-fpm

    Pretty sure everyone does that.

    If anyone can do those basic commands for free, I have a few vps that need to be managed.

    I don't think this is the place to look for a job like this... And, as I understand, you have limited knowledge on linux administration (at least, for someone that seeking for a sys-admin job)... best shot (even difficult) would be places like fiverr etc.

    Here's a start, something I've been slowly adding to:
    https://gitlab.com/jlay/ansible/tree/master/deploy_base

    A beginning to what I hope will be my 'deploy anything' framework, with roles for various things (eg: web server, database, kubernetes, etc).

    Ansible makes managing a bunch of systems easy. Automation is how most places use a few sysads to get a lot done :smile:
