IDrive for backups ?

2TB @ $60/yr or 5TB @ $100/yr. Internet is full of links to 1st year 50-90% off promos, which is nice bonus, but full price is very generous already.

Anyone using IDrive to auto-backup/restore their servers/containers ?

IDrive has two solutions for Linux, the interactive Perl scripts are incredibly awkward and the idevsutil is failing for me with protocol version mismatch.

  • If you like getting 1MB/s download? Yes. It's not going to be very speedy to recover. It does have snapshots, which is nice. The speed isn't there though.

  • 1MB/s download? They should change their servers to Amazon, Google.
