Vapornode Review

Hi everyone, I wanted to do a quick review of Vapornode because they have become one of my favorite providers. I've been using them off and on since November 2016 and right now I currently have one of their High CPU VPSes (with 2 Dedicated Cores, 8GB Ram, 80GB SSD, and 2TB Bandwidth) and a Storage VPS. They use Hivelocity for the servers and their Tampa, FL location has worked great for me because I needed a reliable provider near the East Coast since most of my visitors are in the US (I have also heard they're really great for people that need a good connection to South America).

I have found that their KVM VPSes are really reliable, they're not oversold, and everything just works! I'm a FreeBSD user and FreeBSD works really well on their VPSes (along with DragonFly BSD and OpenBSD). They have a custom control panel that has all kinds of neat options like a Firewall, DNS, Notepad, Status of their servers, and resource graphs. They don't have an option to upload custom ISOs but every time I have contacted them to request an ISO they have always added it for me (and right now they have a pretty big collection of available OSes you can install). Sometimes I do a lot of reinstalling, rebooting, mounting different ISOs, etc and their custom control panel handles everything smoothly. With their High CPU Plans I have compiled various software for hours at a time using 100% of my CPUs and have never had an issue (most of the time I rarely use the cpu allocated to me but it's just nice knowing I have it available if I need it). Their support is really good and I've had a lot of my tickets answered in under 10 minutes (the longest has only been just a few hours for Low priority tickets where I request an ISO or something). They know their stuff and they get straight to the point with fixing a problem or helping you out and I feel confident that if I ever have any issue then I know they'll be there for me.

In summary: I really like @vapornode and I highly recommend them! They've been around for awhile now and I really hope they continue to provide great hosting for a long time. Their products include SSD VPSes, Managed VPSes, High CPU (dedicated cores) VPSes, Storage VPSes, Public Cloud (so you get a pool of resources which is cool), Dedicated Servers, and more.

I installed a Linux OS to take a quick geekbench of my Vapornode High CPU:

A kitten has died when the wall of text collapsed.

All I read was "Hi, jerks -".

I'll start my next provider review with that line :)

What's wrong with a comprehensive account of one's experience with a provider? You millennials and your incessant laziness in all things :-P

  • @sin Thank you for the review! This type of feedback, good or bad, helps us out a lot.
