OpenVPN hardware requirements
Hello,
here i found an article about how to use OpenVPN.
https://hosting.gullo.me/plugin/support_manager/knowledgebase/view/6/nat-ipv4-how-to-set-up-openvpn/4/
Looks kind of easy.
What i miss is some information about hardware requirements.
I want to stream videos over VPN with a single user.
How much RAM / CPU would i need for that?
Here are the different plans:
https://hosting.gullo.me/order/main/packages/nat-ipv4-vps-pen/?group_id=19
Needed bandwith for my project should be enough in all the plans.
Which would fit?
Thanks.

Probably all of them.
Even a small VPS is good enough for that. You may want to prefer a not too old processor though.
As long as the VPS stays online (cough cough Delimited like companies won't do..), you should be good.
I have openvpn server installed on several LES (from Anthony and Mikho) and all of them are working fine (from browsing to watching ytube). Most of them are 128MB memory and relying on really old hardware. So, probably streaming will fit just fine. Just check the bandwidth needs, because you cannot forget that it is a heavily shared server, so, maybe from time to time you will have hickups.
OK, thank you.
I'm a @Nyr man myself: https://github.com/Nyr/openvpn-install
Angristan is based on that.
+1 for Nyr too.
softether..
+1 for Nyr
Can I open customise port on open vpn?
I mean I have not tried installing ever.
Can I customise config to a particular port.
Sorry I have never used.
+1 for angristan
You can with Nyr script, haven't tried Angristan.
I use this on a GestionDBI 64MB RAM VPS https://github.com/Angristan/OpenVPN-install
I'm back to nyr now that I like the defaults.
+1 For not being lazy and reading the docs.
