On A Cloud taken over by Ventraip
On A Cloud Pty Ltd an Australian hosting company have been taken over by the biggest Australian web hosting company (Ventraip).
I have a $4 AUD p/m 1 cpu 1024mb 26GB server which i discovered on here and given Ventraip's ways this will come to an end.
Ventraip's cheapest "unmanged SSD vps" is $79.95 AUD p/m. It seems an Aussie lowend provider has hit the road.

I use VentraIP for .au TLDs. They've been fine to date. None of their hosting or server packages appeal to me. Also had to bail out of their marketing emails. They were making Jason at removed seem like a mute.

I love VentraIP (Recommend them for reliable hosting and cheap .au domains).
I have 2 x 1Gb VPS with on-a-cloud for $3 a month ea. I guess those days are numbered

Just got the email my automatic payment schedule for the server was cancelled.
Oh noes... anybody got some other lowend AU based servers? been a customer of onacloud since they first popped up, will be sad to see them go.

Looks like OnACloud have been doing deals with 25GB Disk here. If anyone wants to move I can do the deal below for $16.50 AUD/quarter with 25GB Disk so you can dd your VPS straight over. (Only valid for current OnACloud customers and not valid to be used to replace a current active service with FlowVPS).

Read about this as well. Would be highly surprising if VentraIP bothers keeping any of those lowend type services OnACloud was offering to be honest. Look at their market space and target segment and it's pretty clear those customers should be looking for a new home.

$16.50/quarter is the same as $5.50/month, just paid every 3 months instead of monthly.
There is @trewq / flowvps and also binarylane if you want $4aud/month or hourly billing.
@trewq is best value for money imo
I was an early adopted and had 1 at $2.50 a month and 1 at $3.00 a month. I don't think I will see a deal that good again for a long time
