Setting up development environment for PHP+MySQL using VirtualBox

alexalex Member

I know it may not be pure VPS material, but decided to post it here anyway. I've created a tutorial to set up your own PHP+MySQL environment using virtualized Debian installation with VirtualBox.
I hope some folks will find it helpful :) http://dagent.org/2013/05/setting-up-development-environment-for-php/

Thanks alex for this tutorial! I am currently running a CentOS VPS VirtualBox server on my home server, works wonderfully.

  • @alex i have my xampp and wamp server environments setup on microSD cards but i'm going to try this too very cool way to have a more complete setup

Virtualbox is awesome, all my centmin mod nginx testing and other server tests start out on a virtualbox local instance :D

one thing about this setup is that is way faster than apache on windows, doesn't mean whether xampp, wamp or ampps (at least in my case)
