Edit your /etc/resolv.conf to point to your DNS resolver. Hopefully 3proxy will use correct DNS settings if it uses standard getaddrinfo() syscalls.
do you mean you want to use another dns resolver?
just use "nserver 208.67.222.222" in your 3proxy.cfg
