Hunting for 2TB KVM with good specs
Hello,
I'm on a hunt for a KVM with following specs:
- 2TB HDD w/ raid
- 2GB RAM (3GB would be better tho)
- 20TB Bandwidth @ 1Gbps shared
Above were absolute requirements. For CPU, nothing specific. 1 core will do.
Budget is, but not fixed to, $20-30 pm
I've looked at:
- VirMach, which is OOS
- Time4VPS, low IOPS
- BuyVM, OOB
I know, not a great budget for this project but let's see if I can get something with good IOPS and inodes. Please post your these details too.

Why not get a dedi from dacentec with 8tb instead?
Just out of curiosity, why not a KS (the KS-2E x 2 for redundancy) even though it's 100Mbps (pretty reliable and consistent at that though)?
An alternative is of course is @UltraVPS (see: https://www.ultravps.eu/en/) for their 2TB storage but only 5TB BW (maybe you can ask for a custom BW extra quote).
out of interested, how many iops do you require and what was provided by Time4VPS?
@vish @nullnotthere Will need cPanel for this project and VPS license will really cut down cost
To providers: Don't worry. Nothing bulky or too heavy as cPanel
Seems good however, month-to-month preferred
200 provided by T4V
And you require?
I think it's a tough one. The 2TB storage (RAID) is difficult to get in a (reliable+usable) VPS setup. If you can get the BW sorted out with @UltraVPS, I think you should give it a go. They are a solid provider and you will be well taken care of. Plus that offer isn't going to be around for too long either. I think @Falzo had some benchmarks somewhere for the 2TB plan. Plus he has (had?) some affiliate codes that may get you a bit of a discount as well. You know right, that he's the official (Germany) LET Storage Meister?
So, @UltraVPS, any possibilities?
If I don't receive other offers, this one seems to be the one!
LOL, thanks, would not call me that, but...
@jetchirag if you order via the ref link from my signature you get 15% for the first 6 month ;-)
also they deduct 19% german VAT from the shown prices if you are an international customer.
and afaik they charge 1,50€ per TB traffic extra, but can't tell if you could or need to book that in advance or how that procedure might work. they posted somewhere that they simply suspend the service if the limit is reached...
netcup has 1.5 TB SAS storage https://www.netcup-offers.eu/bestellen/produkt.php?produkt=1516 within your budget, though only 1 vCore and some virtual 10TB traffic limit.
euserv has some 2x2TB dedis at ~29€ but only 100Mbit and I can't tell how they handle VAT - https://www.euserv.com/de/dedizierte-server/marktplatz/index.php
or ask hosthatch @Abdullah for a custom quote?
We offer additional bandwidth in the Netherlands for 1.50 EUR per TB (excluding VAT).
Will the traffic be inbound or outbound?
Most of the time a Hetzner auction box would fit your high end budget, but the filthy shoeminers ate up all the cheap gear. Right now you'd be looking at $40 for i7/16GB/2x3TB
@jetchirag - one other thought, have you considered a Hetzner (cloud) VPS + Hetzner Storage box? Granted it's not quite local storage but internal traffic is unmetered (and at 1Gbps). Give it a thought as well.

Waiting for reply from @abdullah for confirmation already.
Pricing for UltraVPS per tb is good too, although, don't know if I can risk suspend on reaching bandwidth thing. Will give it a thought!
Although I probably need a lot less bandwidth, buying 20TB ones just in case. Netcup doesn't seems to be having additional bandwidth offers tho.
Most of the traffic will be inbound but 20TB was bi-directional
@Harambe
Possibly but inclusive pricing with cPanel license for dedicated would kinda double the budget
Purchase additional IP for $1/mo, install Proxmox, buy cPanel VPS license, ???, profit
Idea's good but can't say how will it perform!
@Harambe
Been trying to avoid that but reconsidering now. Probably going this way!
@jetchirag
Contabo KVM, 2TB SSD-boosted (not pure ssd!), 6 Cores and 30 GB RAM, 1 Gbit/s shared for 19,99€/mo. Contabo cPanel internal license is only 11,99€/mo
For apparently no reason, I don't have trust upon them
You can termiante it monthly. Give it a spin Not top notch but okay for sure
It's having a bad image in my mind but will add to options to consider per your say
