For a long time or a short time? You’ll need a dedicated core if it’s the former, and it isn’t gonna be $5. Even with the second option, you most likely can’t buy a vps at the price with good cpu and many cores. You could also use hourly billed hosts such as vmhaus, vultr, digitalocean, Linode etc

if you need guaranteed CPU, would guess you might find really cheap dedis more easily than dedicated cores on a VPS.
for instance Scaleway does a little 4-core dedi (ARM) for ~ €3 per month. 2 GB RAM, 50 GB (remote) storage ... comes with not the best network.
Not good enough? Well, you can pay more for more / better depending on what exactly you might need.
So ... curious what exactly you think you need for CPU? 1.8 GHz? or 2.2 Ghz? Or more?
