sftp with privatekey
how can i disable root login in sftp? also i am using privatekey which i generated with putty when communicating with ssh server. i want the same behaviour in sftp too. for example in winscp i can not login if i dont set my key file in the program but in filezilla i can connect to sftp without a key file. doesnt this weird? am i missing something? thank you.

You could just disable the root account? I guess,

Or in your sshd_config, /etc/sshd_config usually etc, make sure PermitRootLogin is set to no
okay i wrote it wrong. there is no problem with root login. i disabled it like you said. my main problem is with sftp privatekey setup. thanks.
Look for an entry in your ~/.ssh/known_hosts file for the host your connecting from?
there is no known_hosts file under my .ssh directory. what did i wrong? thanks.
Have you disabled password authentication?
password auth is set to no breton.
Filezilla is using the key then, it just isnt prompting you for it.
