Oh well, I slept through it, happy writing the wrong year for a few weeks celebration.

  • Happy New Year all!

Happy new year! ... now that it’s 2018, all Vanilla time stamps for December have no day (just month and year).

+1 to the best forum software on the planet!

As inconvenient as it is, if you hover over the month it shows the actual date and time of posting. You're SOL on mobile though.

  • Happy new year!

  • Happy new year from Tignes! :-D

Happy new year, all! Hope you have a happy holiday and great 2018. :)

  • Happy New Year. Wishing for 100% uptime and filled pockets (with cash of course)

PS: A chilly (and snowy) start to 2018, here in Toronto.

Like, why should we need to hover over it? If they just put the full date, wouldn’t it be so much better?

Yeah nah it makes fuck all sense. Surely it would be more work to change the dates once a new year starts then just to leave them.

You are aware that this is just a formatted timestamp, right, and there isn't some magical cron job to change the dates when they hit a certain threshhold. (Although, if you check the footer, it's still hardcoded to 2016, so this might be easier to misunderstand. I guess.)

Right, and is that not more effort than simply printing the exact date the post was made? Genuinely asking. I guess it would have to be adjusted for timezones and the like still, too.
