[FAQ]
1) Can I get a dedicated IPv4 address?
Not on the NAT packages, this service was designed to use NAT IPv4 and native IPv6. I can create a custom package on request.
2) Do your servers employ Raid?
Yes, all servers are using either using RAID 1 or RAID 10.
3) Do you backup individual VPS containers?
No, you are responsible for backups of the data on your VPS. In the event of complete data loss, your container will be re-created as soon as possible.
4) Will you help me install/set up X, Y, Z?
This is an unmanaged service, your support options for installs/configurations are posting your questions at the Lowendspirit forum or here.
5) TUN/TAP available?
Yes, enable/disable it from the WHMS integrated control panel.
6) Why does the service list a bandwidth limit when you offer unmetered ports?
When that limit is reached the VPS is not suspended like many other providers do. Your connection will only be limited to a lower (still acceptable) speed.
This is a part of the Fair Usage Policy.
7) What is this "Fair Usage Policy"?
Here on LET it's called "The Golden Rule";

Don’t be a dick.
Do unto others. Don't do things that decades of netiquette have shown to be offensive. Don't be That Guy. Don't break the rules. When in doubt, don't.
Just don't be a dick.

8) Examples of unacceptable content/applications
* TOR
* Open proxies
* Port scanning
* website and/or service in regards to pirated software
* Public VPN

NOTE: Breaking the Fair Usage Policy will not get you suspended, it will get you terminated.
If you have a question about acceptable applications, post it in the Lowendspirit forum.

  • Can I pre-order 15?

  • I absolutely should not ... but this seems too good to pass up. Time to setup my own nameservers & DNS servers?

    DNS is not really suitable on a NAT ipv4 server :)

    Aww, well dang. I hadn't really read up on it yet.

    Still tempted though.

    You get a subset of specific ports via IPv4, IPv6, you get native. Treat it like IPv6 only, and you'll "get it".

  • Nice offer. Need a credit card payment.

    Words. They be tricksy. Thanks, what I meant was that I hadn't really read up on running my own nameserver; started but fell asleep. Quite happy with living in an IPv6 world, thankfully my new ISP supports it.

    (I have a Unbound dns server running at home as my router doesn't cache dns results which lead to some really slow page loading a few months ago)

    You'd probably find dnsmasq to be faster, with lesser footprint. But, OK. Look into nsd- it's fucking brilliant.

    Try again.

  • I am admittedly confused.

    For the 128MB instance the summary mentions $1.6, the billing cycle lists $4, and the ad here $8. Also, which five locations? It mentions "Falkenstein".

    It's not a trick if you willingly whip it out..

    Thats WHMCS for you :).
    You setup one product, then the second and so on. When all five are done, the price in the cart updates to 1.6 each. == 8/5 locations.

    Locations are
    Falkenstein, Germany.
    Sandefjord, Norway.
    Sofia, Bulgaria.
    Lenoir, North Carolina, USA.
    Kansas City Missouri, USA.

    checkout is probably not in that order.

  • Alright, thanks for the clarification.

    Please don’t, I’ll think of some compensation. ;)

    I don't know why, but suddenly here in this thread, a norwegian thought crossed my mind of what that compensation could look like...
