Oops.
Does CCleaner offer an update that removes the malware it installs?
Only CCleaner "Premium" does automatic updates.
Sweet irony. Premium...
So does this mean for once it pays to not update your software?

I caught this announcement couple a days ago and my version is an older V5.25. Today my Comodo firewall stopped Ccleaner from opening and modifying a protected file. Somethings up
Glarysoft Utilities is a good replacement if you don't trust CCleaner anymore.

It isn't 2003 anymore - CCleaner is redundant.
Wow. I just installed it tonight.
Is the current version clean? I'll have to check tomorrow.
It looks like they're doing automatic updates just this one time for free users who are affected by the malware, if you're on a supported client version.
Also for those worried about being infected, keep in mind this only applies to 32-bit devices or installs.
This one is 100% FBI proof.
Well fuck
Windows defender quarantined its installation file labeling it as a backdoor.
Windows is a backdoor, a massive one.
Thank you. Got any open source registry cleaner too?
Don't "clean" your registry keys. Thanks
I'd trust Microsoft over Piriform a million times over.
