proxy cpanel domains like cpanel.domain.com, whm.cdomain.com etc. and let's encrypt
I plan to migrate from DirectAdmin to cpanel, and I would like to know if is it possible to secure cpanel proxy subdomains like cpanel.domain.com, whm.domain.com and webmail.domain.com by free Let's encrypt certificate or do I need to buy wildcard one? When I checked last time (about 6 months ago I was unab;e to do that and I cannot secure exim, dovecot and FTP services by let's encrypt. Can anyone tell me if it is possible now? If not can anyone recommend cheapest wildcard SSL possible?

Yep. They all support SNI now; you can even use cPanel's own SSL for the subdomain.
cpanel's own ssl? But it is self-signed right?
Personally i like DirectAdmin much more.

DirectAdmin is a solid panel. They seem to review their code thoroughly before pushing to the stable branch.
cPanel just has a lot more going on, but it makes administration tricky.
I agree however, for now I know DirectAdmin very well, and cpanel not, and I simply would like to learn new things. The truth is that here in Poland DirectAdmin is very popular, howeve in the USA or west eirope the cpanel is the leader and I don't want to close on other options. it's just for fun and learn not for serious hosting.
