SSD Dedicated Server
Hi all,
I have a bit of a ludicrous request but I'll give it a go anyway, I've got a client who I manage a machine for and they are running into storage issues!
I currently have a L5520 box at Dacentec with 36GB RAM and a 240GB SSD (plus - a RamNode box acting as a GRE tunnel/backup server) and my requirements are pretty much the same, I'll list them below:
32+GB RAM
L5520 or better CPU
Total of 480GB or more SSD storage (Raid 0 is fine, I back it up externally)
1-5 IPv4, 1Gbps Uplink, 3TB+ Data Transfer
DDoS Protection (+$10/mo)
My budget is $55 without DDoS Protection, $65 with it - however I might be able to push an extra $5-10 if absolutely needed. DDoS Protection just needs to be basic but has to work for TCP & UDP. The location does not matter, although West Coast USA is a last resort.
Thanks a million in advance.

@dacentec might be able to help you out.
Hetzner w/ the no setup fee deal? i7-7700 32GB 2x500GB SSD, or 64GB 2x250GB SSD for $45 USD-ish.
I think IPs are about a buck a month to add on.

You know what, I had ruled them out because of VAT & Setup Fees - but it's actually within budget - do you know how quick the delivery is on one of them boxes?
Still open to other offers, would need ~24 hour delivery though.
You could probably use @qps and still backhaul your DDoS protection out through Ramnode for a nice connection / latency.
Pricing request is tough with the SSD requirement and DDoS filtering. QuickPacket can get close - all in at $85 for a Dual L5520 in Atlanta with your requested specs. We use Voxility for filtering.
I'm not sure, should be pretty quick as long as you don't order add-ons. Although they've been a bit delayed recently because of the volume of signups.
soyoustart game lineup? 6700k/64gb/480gb ssd (single disk) at 65 euro/month (~77 usd/month) excluding VAT.
Aside from that, their normal (non-game) line has a few interesting servers as well, but all are out of stock for now.
I 100% agree that the pricing is tough (it's a bit cheeky asking this offer, but that's what LET is for I guess) - and this is a very fair offer and something I will consider should other plans fall through! Thanks. How much is the box without filtering?
You could even go for the OVH DE discover offer, at 75 usd/month excl vat for an e3 1245v6/32gb ram/900gb nvme ssd
$65

I've been eyeing it for a while, but don't need it yet.
Would Bulgaria be an option? If so, i can come pretti close to your budget.
Bulgaria would definitely be an option.
We can do in LA
in London, UK We can do a custom server of:
E3-1270V5
32 GB DDR4 ECC
2x 240 GB Sandisk SSDs
20 TB Bandwidth
1Gbit/s uplink
2x IPv4 (£1 / IP / month for additional addresses)
Premium AS62240 network with Level3, NTT, GTT, Telia, Cogent with geographically dispersed routing sites, running on Juniper MX platform with Trio 3D Silicon, connected with MPLS-TE between sites on dark fibre.
DDoS protected
$65 excl. VAT where applicable.
This is a custom package, we can make one of those, order via PM if interested.
Pretty sure there's a e3-1240v3, 32gb ecc + 2x240GB DC grade ssds on hetzner auction for just 41.5euros. (30TB bw)
I was saving it for myself, but I might as well be honest and admit I don't have an immediate use for it.
raid0 should be fine on these Datacenter ssds
Costed me same but single disk (
Vastly different disk though ;-).
@Clouvider why.. your prices are downright affordable. Where'd I get the idea that you were expensive?
Dunno . Support the revolution and order one from us too :P
(also thank Brexiteers for better spending power of your USDs in the UK :P)
I don't need one right now- Will keep you in mind, though!
Bandwith so much less expensive in England @Clouvider ?
@Clouvider any details on your DDoS protection?
I don't remember seeing you advertise it too much, seems like it's more of an insurance policy vs "if you're getting attacked, come to us" thing? (let me know if my assessment is way off base)
Everything depends on the quality of said. We use quite premium transits, supplemented by cheaper transits in order to avoid congestion to say single-homed networks to Cogent. We also pay Liberty Global for access to their end users to improve their Customer's experience as well as peering on LINX LON1 and LON2.
Not interested in harbouring DDoS magnets, but also don't remember a time when the Customer would be blackholed because someone picked them as a target. We have in-house gear + we can failover to NTTs protection, if we're overpowered.
I can do the following in London Docklands.
Intel Xeon E3-1240v6
32GB DDR4 ECC
1 x 480GB SSD Kingston v400
1Gbps port with 30TB transfer
1 x IP Address
Free 100Gbps Corero DDoS protection with attack statistics, preferences and notifications
Price: £50.00 GBP - 64USD - ex VAT
Would be a custom order, so signup and pop a ticket in and we will process it for you.
