Can anyone teach me how to install kloxo on a 128mb ram vps? (My plan is 128MB guaranteed & 256MB burstable and does not provide Hostinabox temple)
I have tried to install kloxo several times, but i was sucked when it install the Mysql, it keep run out of ram and the installation loop here.

  • Kloxo idles at about 30mb ram when its optimized so you shouldn't have a problem. I've installed it on a vps with 128mb ram before and it run fine.

  • Use a minimal /etc/my.cnf already in place then begin the install

why install kloxo ? install only the required components separately. kloxo will install loads of unwanted apps and will eat your ram for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

lighttpd, tinydns and qmail eat ram?

  • You may want to ask your host to get the Kloxo HIB template or you can follow the guide I recommend at: http://wiki.lxcenter.org/Kloxo-Manual

  • If you are not using Kloxo (Host-In-Box) template, you will always ran out of memory.
As BlueVm said ask your provider to setup a template for you. Most host provide HIB template. (e.g Buyvm, Gohost, Chicagovps, & etc...)
For Kloxo master to install you need more than 128 ram.

I'm just test it on Edis Vserver 128MB, the installation is finished, but the services -httpd-mysql-.etc- didnt start. Got Pear error, and another error that i don't (want to) remember. Ahh nevermind T_T

you could try turning off innodb..

    /etc/my.cnf

    under [mysqld] add

    skip-bdb
    skip-innodb

    reboot..

also while your installing only have one putty session open and don't use winscp as you will use more memory..

@Coffee Edis must have Host-in-abox kloxo template. Keep in mind that when you completed the installation, restart or reboot it.
