Looking for cheap r1soft license
Hi,
I have been getting my license from http://www.r1soft-licenses.com/ and today i received cancellation notice from them.
"R1Soft withdraw the right to resell licenses and we are forced to cancel the contracts with the current customers.
So what is the alternative place i can get a cheap r1soft license?

Comments
This seems to be the new norm
I was talking to @serverian and he stated the same.
Francisco
Same thing here
I got the notice as well. Any idea why is that happening ?
Their license were the cheapest .... Not able to see any other viable option
Yeah, r1soft-licenses.com cancelled on us as well, effective at the end of June. Was paying $2.50 per agent regardless of the agent type (VPS or Dedi).
The alternatives that I've found so far:
Any other alternatives out there?
I would stay away from that one given the recent financial issues with SolusVM recently.
Any other r1soft alternative? Bacula maybe?
Jet backup ?
jet backup it's only for cPanel, we also do vm, windows
Are not these "internal license" ?? I.e storage server (or VMs) needs to be with Dediserve ?? I will ask them although recently I am not really happy with their support. (been their client for more than 2 year now)
That was my first thought as well, so I asked on their live chat, and the agent said the licenses can be used outside their network as well.
So anyone else have any suggestions ??
Received the same email, fml
So,
Anyone found a good alternative ??
rsnapshot, really good alternative and free
The new reality seems to be 7 to 9 USD per license with 36 months contract. ...
surely that'll kill them off? excessive charging
I wonder if this is going to be a broad stroke so that no one is reselling them.
So no one interested in this ??
How are you guys getting your R1soft license ?? Or are you moving to a different setup for backups ?
I have been using R1 for some of my setups and I would like to keep things as it is... But the cost difference is HUGE ....
That's the whole point R1Soft has made with discontinuing some of their resellers, they want to force higher prices.
I think it's less of a "people are not interested in this" and more of a "people have accepted it and moved on" kind of situation.
The choice is simple here, you either pay the higher prices or find another software for your backups.
Yeah I get that. I have no issue paying higher price than before.
But I do have issue paying what R1soft is asking (I did ask them for pricing) :P
So I am just asking what's the best deal one can get for it ...
At this time, it would seem that r1softlicenses.com is the best choice, for external licenses. Price being $7.95/mo per agent, dropping down to $4.95/mo per agent if you buy 20 or more.
Looks like they are $14.95 now.
That seems to be the new standard R1Soft is pushing for their resellers.
As far as I can tell from my chat with R1Soft sales reps, they are forcing their resellers to have these minimum prices:

So, unless you need a high volume of licenses, that you can buy directly from R1Soft at a somewhat discounted price, I don't see any way around paying the $14/mo/agent.
it seems all hosting friendly stuff getting expensive, whmcs, r1soft, what next
WHMCS isn't expensive. Lol
it is since they remove owned version. for me
Still not expensive.
This looks the most promising that I've seen.

Yeah, it's nothing like R1Soft, but at least it offers de-duplication and it's free! Just ran several tests and it performed well. I reached out to R1Soft, but nobody answers their phone.
