Running Windows VM with local IP

Hi guys,

I have a question, as usual with windows servers... I need to deploy around at least 40 Windows virtual machine.

They dont need any public IP Adress, I will assign them static ip and they will be accessed with host only.

However, I just need to know whats the best way to run them...
VmWare, VirtualBox, KVM (SolusVm/Virtualizor), HyperV or anything else.
This is not a service selling, only a need for my self, so it will be used by me only.

I was thinking to use ovh, with their either 64 or 128 Xeons.

Waiting for your recommendations...,
Thanks!

    hmm...that is a toss up.

Either Proxmox or Hyper-V, skip everything else.

Hyper-V has my vote - it will give you best performance for Windows VMs. But be sure to use SSD as SATA drives could not handle that number of VMs without lagging.

    Hyper-v.

  • Proxmox

  • Hyper-V , and if you are using Windows Server xxxx Datacenter on your main server, you can use AVMA keys to activate all your 40 VMs.

I would also advice to use hyper-v but for 40 windows vms a datacenter licence will be required.
