Warning regarding ModulesGarden software and need recommendations for IPAM software
This is probably known to most of you, but just a warning that if you use ModulesGarden licensed software it is probably constantly phoning home and fails to work when their servers are down, and definitely doing so with IP Manager. 3 months ago their site was offline or had some issues so their license check on my paid for product (IP Manager) failed to work; causing my business significant disruption since regular access to IP Manager is needed.
In my complaint tickets to them their staff told me this would not happen again and assured me the software did not phone home more than once a day (obviously incorrect or bad information).
Now their site is offline again and reporting the error:
Critical Error
SQLSTATE[08004] [1040] Too many connections
So my IP Manager is again inaccessible; delaying deployments of services for my customers.
So I am also asking what IPAM software do dedicated server hosts recommend that does not rely on a third party to maintain and run their webservers correctly? :-)

Oh, how about that! Their site is back online and now the module works again. What a coincidence! :-)
Use Hostbill.
They are probably using the WHMCS License Addon improperly, they should use the localkey mechanism. Now it seems that they are doing license check calls on every request.

ModulesGarden has always been pathetic for me, we used their WHMCS CRM module for a while and it was simply awful and their poor support along with it.
For IPAM we use phpIPAM - https://phpipam.net, It's free, it has everything that we need and just works.
So I guess nothing has changed with modulesgarden code quality standards. I was thinking of giving them another try but I guess I should think again.
What do you use this IPAM software for? What features do you need?
Thats the worst thing they can do... There should only be checks a couple times inside 24 hours.. Shiet..

Regarding the license check it is clear that it is checking much more often than every 24 hours, the IP Manager module pages often load really slowly which would indicate that it's calling home regularly. The fact that I am based in Australia and hosting it here makes it particularly slow since it seems to check against some licensing server in Europe (just a guess by how slow it is sometimes).
