Yeah commandline, or if I'm not at home I usually use nic.extension or whois.extension (e.g. nic.com, whois.com) as rarely does one whois site list all extensions.
At first I was going to ask why you necro'd a three year old thread, but then realized that you just registered to promote your site... sigh
