Can't get Putty SSH Tunnel to work...

I'm trying to setup a SSH tunnel using Putty. More specific, I need to setup this tunnel so that I can access my VPS as if it was a local machine to login to Plex. Their instructions are for Mac, but seem pretty straightforward:

'You might need to tunne via ssh to you cloud server. You can do this from your local PC by running ssh towards the server like so (from terminal):

ssh @ -L 8888:localhost:32400

and then go to your browser and access http://localhost:8888 then setup you myplex account that way.'

I used this tutorial:
http://howto.ccs.neu.edu/howto/windows/ssh-port-tunneling-with-putty/
But FireFox refuses to load the page http://localhost:8888 (Timeout).

Here's how I've set it up:

Any clues why it won't load?

Thanks!

  • Set it to dynamic, and set source port to the port you want.

  • That wasn't it, but I already figured it out myself. Protip; Disable any other VPN connections running. Do'h!!
    Thanks!
