    Did you get any errors? What happened when you tried to update?

  • You know having a 7 opened threads to 10 comment ratio is not doing you any favors in getting potential buyers to want to try your service right?

  • We have nothing to do with this

    yes . The automatic updation got failed , but the error was related to permission but giving 777 permission is not the right way. Might be a server end issue if any of you guys hasn't faced it.

    I have contacted their support and they tell the issue is with my servers.
    Anyway i fixed the issue by changing the file permission of /vendor/whmcs/whmcs directory to 777. Now the whmcs updated to 7.1.1 via automatic update option. :)

    Not necessarily a huge security issue unless someone has access to his server in the first place or if he's on shared hosting.

    edit: don't want to sound like a security expert on this so please do your own research ;)

    I've just had a case report opened because of the errors I faced with WHMCS;

    CORE-10844

    The eventually worked out what was wrong and got it working

  • How did you get on? Do you have a development license from WHMCS? If not, get one - they're free and allow you to run a private test / development WHMCS instance running. This instantly lets you rule out server-specific configuration issues (like firewalls, global permissions, PHP config etc).
