Any "$1 for the first month" offer?
Hello,
I'm trying to decide how much RAM I need for my app to see how it performs in OpenVZ, especially for the database and InnoDB.
Do you know of any providers that offer a trail of $1 for 30 days to test the VPS?
I'm looking for something with at least two cores and 512MB of RAM.

I doubt it. If you take the PayPal fees away from $1 it's just not sustainable at all. It means the provider will get just over 50 cents. Providing a VPS with 512MB for $1 for a month is just not possible.
However, if you just speak to some providers they may be able to sort out a free trial period of 7-14 days.

Theres a one dollar promo floating about somewhere for us, all customers past and present got the email, it was also posted on freevps.
@sandro I personally use DigitalOcean for hosting some spare files, its a good provider. They offer free trials for 15 or 30 days. I think 15 though.

They automatically suspend you after the trial ends and you don't add a payment method. If you add a credit card or make a PayPal deposit, then you'll be able to create more droplets and use the coupon credit.
I did make a deposit, like 11 hours later just before the VPS got suspended. They sent a notification email.
Using it occasionally to test scripts, see the functionality and how much it consumes before actually order a suitable VPS.
