Alternatives to Veeam Agent for Linux

I had been using VAL while it was in beta to do daily incremental backups of my VPS' and was very happy with it - for example I could restore an entire VPS to a point in time on my local ESXi host in a matter of minutes.

Unfortunately, now the product is RTM and Veeam have decided to charge £ 129 /server /annum making it way too expensive for my limited budget.

Just wondering if there are alternatives out there which can do full VPS image backups at a reasonable cost?

  • Hi,

There is also a free version of VAL which indeed has some limitations, however all basic functionality (such as backup, restore, pre-post job scripts, change block tracking) is in place. Should you have more questions please contact Veeam comunity via fourm.

    Thank you
