4g LTE Wingle Help | External Antenna not working as its supposed to | Russian Translation
Hi
I have issues with my Zong Wingle e8372h
Adding an external antenna is not working
It is increasing the gain (dBm) but the signal strength remains poor
BTW
huawei devices have an api
http://192.168.8.1/api/monitoring/status
The field
SignalStrength /SignalStrength
is empty ?
Device Information

I can't really make heads or tails of your post. But from what I know about radio I would point out that an antenna needs proper matching and just adding some external antenna could easily result in a lower signal. That's normal.
There is an increase in dbM value..
But what i don't understand is ...
Q.1
Why the bars or signal strength remians
Same?
Q.2
Why the huawei api is not sending signal strength parameter
Q.3
Any appropriate antennas for e8372h fdd 1800mhz lte 4g
Also need to factor in the output power of the radio in your device, can add a bunch of antenna gain but not make use of it if the radio is underpowered.
Also, with LTE stuff, your output power should automatically adjust depending on devices connected/etc. Your issue may be that it's blasting at full power and creating a bunch of noise, degrading the connection.
Radio is underpowered...
Didn't understand that part...
:-)
Also how to reduce noise
I doubt that the internal "measurements" have any connection to the external reality. Can you measure the swr? http://www.hamuniverse.com/swr.html
Using underpowered transmitters/receivers (in mobile phone or any wireless device, such radio/tv/communications) with high-gain antennas, can lead to amplify the signal together with the noise. So, the real db gain, if you remove the noise, is poor and the signal can have more issues than profits.
In real life, unfortunately if nubmers are on the edge, only real testing can prove if something like what you try will work (and it seem that in your case, it won't)...
Maybe you can try a 3g/4g amplifier (active) and not just an antenna.
3g/4g amplifier
Are you talking about a gsm/lte repeater?
Or are they different things
