review this vps

Recently bought a vps with these specs:

OpenVZ, 1 ipv4, bandwidth: 500gb, memory: 3gb, disk: 10gb.

What do you think? Is it good for high traffic websites? [sorry not so experienced]

  • Hard to tell without knowing what your code is like.

Is it static website? Wordpress based? Custom CMS? Heavy on database or not?

Also we don't know how your VPS really performs (IO speed, IOPS, is it heavily oversold or not)...

Just try and see how it goes! You can guess knowing the specs of your precedent hosting. If the site is not too big 3GB RAM could provide a nice cache for your files/db.

    Good luck!

  • It all depends on their overselling policy, just try it in action and you'll see.

  • I'm agree with datanoise and bersy: just test it, this is the only way. If development of your site is in progress yet, you can try to perform a load testing with JMeter or something like that.
