Cant run Startx in ubuntu
Just installed ubuntu desktop running this command:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
When I type:
startx
am getting this one:

You running this from something that has a screen to attach to? For example VNC

So via putty for example?
If so how do you expect startx to work with no screen to attach to? You either need to go in via VNC or run a local X instance on your PC and use xforwarding via putty.

What did you install Ubuntu on? Hopefully a computer in front of you and not a remote server.
