The old one was better... but I love the simplicity that this one bears.
Yes the old one is unique and interesting, but imo it looks like typical 'startup' logo

Main impression from the new logo: "hmm, I've already seen that somewhere". But can't remember where so far, it was some cloud or hosting company too. Or maybe it's just that the logo feels generic and not unique or DO-specific.

Oceans create clouds by evaporation, it's blue and it literally says "Ocean". What else do you need?
