Just get ISO from Technet that gives 180 day trial.
Even after the 180 day trial nothing happens so effectively its free forever.
After 180days expires , the server get shut down or reboots automatically. Every day
That is interesting, i've never experienced any issues and i've been running the machines for 11 months now.
Nothing more professional than admiting to a breach of software license on a public forum ;-)
Before 180 days expired you can always extend it another 180 days. 2 times iirc.
It's not that expensive, relatively speaking ofc
