Looking for a VPS or very cheap dedicated Server in vienna or graz | Austria

I would like to host an DNS Server ( like https://pi-hole.net) for me and my family and i want to use it as Backup Disk ( like the Hetzner Storagebox - ~50GB).

  • uptime ( i dont want to use something like ovh again - i had a teamspeak server ( for 5 clients there ) and downtimes every week.

  • performance ( i dont think that the dns server need a lot of power, everything faster than a pi should be fine but i dont want to see frozen browsers or anything like that so kvm would be a plus.

+latency (the server should be located in austria)

+storage/ssd ( ~ 50GB SSD )

I missed the dediserve offer and edis seems to be expensiv with its kvm plans :S

Do you know a good VPS offer in Austria?

Budget ~ € 15 to € 20 for VPS.

    Sadly this does not really exist outside of the edis brands (right now, give it some time), Castlegem has something as does Dediserve.

    Dediserve is Anexia/Datasix, Castlegem is Neo Telecoms (now Zayo, operated by Upstreamnet), edis is in Nessus/IP.ONE.

    Pricing is not yet in 2016 here, bw in Vienna costs from 1-3EUR/Mbit (not that bad, qty allowing) but colo space is expensive and mostly available for full racks or quarter plus only.

    Host in a nearby country.

    If I were you, I would better buy one small VPS for DNS in Austria from Dediserve/EDIS and another one somewhere in Europe to use it as backup server.
