Relaying CCTV stream

YKMYKM Member

Anyone know if you can relay a CCTV stream to a VPS and people view the video stream from the VPS rather than from the camera directly?

Do you know what format your CCTV camera is spitting out on its stream?

  • Yes, we need to know what type of stream this is putting out. If you have an analog system, you have to convert it to digital with a box.

If you are looking for an open-source solution for a network video recorder/viewer, check out ZoneMinder.

    Does this help?

    This could help you, https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=18346

That will cache the CCTV footage to a file on the vps.
