Which CPUs do the regular and storage VPS ranges use?

StorageVPS lineup is L5640 on the latest nodes I believe. HA Cloud is a mix - generally higher CPU core count E5's and similar.

We're temporarily out of stock on the SSD models, probably for the next week or so.

    @david_W

We've got some 250GB SSD stock left, so I've put together a modified E5420 plan. It's +$10/m over the normal plans, so $40/m, $90/q, $320/yr.

  • Looks like disk is the biggest price factor so far, everything else have way longer life span.

Anyone will be interested in an offer with SSD + HDD besides me?
    120G SSD + 500G HDD ~$25/mo or 250G SSD + 1T HDD ~$35/mo will be very attractive...

I'm sure it would be very attractive... I just can't swing those numbers. We don't get that many requests for mixed systems. It's base systems or dual drive (same drive), and that's it.

120GB SSD + 500GB HDD would be $30/mo on quarterly billing. 250GB SSD + 1TB HDD would be $45 on quarterly billing.

I have more options if I switch to cheaper SSDs, but I prefer to stick with Samsung because I trust the quality.

  • lol you guys know about other cities than Atlanta?

If you haven't received an email for more information then it should be approved. Did you order an SSD model? We're waiting on a delivery from Samsung that was delayed.

If you'd like a HDD model instead you can ticket billing and it can be modified and provisioned quickly. I'll update pending SSD orders later today when I get an update.

as promised to @mikeyur I'll hereby complain gladly report about delimiters service ;-)

I have been interested in a small server in US with some additional IPs to setup some KVM vps on top, but wouldn't want to spend more than ~$20 monthly for at least 8 GB RAM and 5 usable IPs included.

before this thread I did ask mike some presales question regarding their dedicated servers and addon IPs which he answered thoroughly - thanks for that!

I decided to order that dual E5420 with 2x500GB HDD and two additional IPs for a month to tryout...
ordered on 21st in the evening (CET), got provisioned last night, so overall a bit more than two days (they announce to need max 3 days beforehand).

First I did a reinstall to one of their deb8 templates which took some time. those boxes also need a long time to reboot... was not happy with the partitioning, so build the system from scratch via ILO and locally mounted iso.
that wasn't fast either, as I am in europe with 5 MBit up on my dsl connection ;-)

notice that the ILO of those blades wont work within chrome 45 (ERR_SSL_FALLBACK_BEYOND_MINIMUM_VERSION), at least I didn't took much effort to workaround.

I did setup proxmox over debian and went configuring the additional IPs.
while there is the possibility to order single addon IPs at $1/m those aren't supposed to be used for virtualization. this simply means that delimiter gives no support on setting your network configuration to make it work. you should know how a routed setup works.

Though I set things up accordingly, I wasn't able to make it work and on investigating why it turned out that the addon IPs weren't routed correctly to my server (trace stopped two hops before).
I ticketed in regarding this issue and received an answer within 5 minutes along with an immediate trouble shooting ...impressive.

yet I have a fully working KVM vps on top of that dedi as intended and everything works fine and for sure I did some benchmarks:

    Speedtest (IPv4 only)

    geekbench 4GB/2C KVM: http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/5787179

I am pretty satisfied so far. the E5420 doesn't feature AES, so the singlethread performance can't keep up with some newer procs, but at least there are 8 cores ;-)
I am probably keeping this box, even if I have to raise my budget a bit, because I do get more RAM and if I go for some more IPs I can put it to use with maybe 6 rather than 4 vps.

for sure we'll see how this works in the long run... so far I would recommend.

You ordered yesterday, so it'll be reviewed today. Once approved our normal delivery time is 1-3 business days, since your order is a base configuration I expect it'll be out quicker.

Back in may 2015, I once bought a service from delimitervps.
But when I ordered yesterday, my email still not registered.
So I guess that I will not facing any problem with verification.
I'm not good in english. I hope that you'll understand.

We use a different billing system so that's why you had to create a new account. If you used the same email address then it should speed up verification.
